I Wear Kids Clothes

I've got a little confession to make today: I sometimes buy clothes from the kids section, and they're not for my son Liam, they're for myself. The jumpsuit I'm wearing here is the perfect example. I love how cute {and cheap!} this Zara kids jumpsuit is. 

Most kids shops have sizes up to 14 years, and a while back I found out I actually fitted in all of the kids section clothes. Not that I'm short or anything {I'm 168cm tall, 5'6''}, but I am most certainly thin, so I guess that's the main reason I can fit in everything. 

This jumpsuit I'm wearing is not even the biggest size, but a 11-12 years one! It may sound crazy but believe me when I say it's sooo worth it. Kids clothes are SO much cheaper! This jumpsuit was 17.95 euros, I don't think you can find such thing in the woman section.

I was eating a gorgeous rose-shaped ice-cream cone from Amorino, my favorite! I found it was extremely difficult to take pictures of it with this mediterranean heat, the ice-cream was melting before we knew it!

I know for a fact I'm not the only one out there buying stuff from the kids section for myself, so tell me, did any of you ever give it a try? If so, with which brands?

VFNO x Lane Crawford in Hong Kong

VFNO, a.k.a Vogue Fashion's Night Out happened in Hong Kong last night! I'm a declared fan of VFNO ever since 2011, when I joined the one in Madrid with my BFF Soraya and had A BLAST! VFNO is all about celebrating fashion in style, shops (luxury ones mainly) open at night time and serve drinks and snacks to all the fashionistas who willingly join the best fashion party of the year. There are usually several special discounts available only on this day!

The VFNO in Hong Kong is different to those in other parts of the world in the fact that it happens exclusively at Lane Crawford, the multi-brand luxury retailer. All Lane Crawford branches took part in the event last night, even though the main party was going on at the IFC branch, which is where I was, of course!

This edition of VFNO didn't disappoint: free-flow of Veuve Clicquot champagne, beer, orange juice or a fancy coffee-flavored liquor; mouth-watering macarons from Sift; Popsicles, and many, many more booths made of this a great night. It was crowded, too, so it was definitely a success!

My favorite booth were the macarons from Sift... simply delicious, and there were SO many, the staff kept on refilling! I ate 5 or 6, I forgot haha

This booth had MAJOR success! Girls were queuing for a long time for this! The Bumbys gave you an honest and anonymous appraisal on your look by typing it on their typing machines. Entrepreneurs out there, you see the big opportunity here, girls are dying to know what others REALLY think of how they look :)

Beautiful actress and model Lynn Hung and other celebrities were there too!

Dear Stockings...

If there's something I miss during summer is wearing stockings. I'm a stockings passionate, I love wearing them from fall to spring, but it's just too much for summer. We're in the middle of July and my inner fashionista can't put up with this anymore. That's why last night I dressed up with three of my favorite shoes and three of my favorite stockings, just to remember how it feels to wear them and, since they look so pretty, take some pictures while I was at it.

Discovery Bay

Discovery Bay is the American suburb of Hong Kong. Practically isolated from the city, it's filled up with expatriates with children who like to live away from the city buzz. It's located half an hour by ferry from Central, in Lantau Island. J and I are planning on moving to a bigger place after our wedding, so we're now enjoying visiting all the residential areas in Hong Kong we'd consider living in. Our current apartment has two bedrooms but we turned one of them into our dressing room so there is no space for a baby... Anyway, I didn't like Discovery Bay at all, it's so inconvenient! I guess this is what a suburbia is like after all, and it is not for me. You can only get to Discovery Bay by ferry or bus, no cars are allowed! Crazy @@ I can't imagine living there regardless of their beautiful beach. Besides, I got 40 mosquito bites, OMG! I don't think you'll be seeing me around there anytime soon!

A Pink Chinese New Year

The year of the Snake is just a week away, and the whole city is filled with decorations for the Chinese New Year. Today, walking around New Town Plaza in Shatin, I found these pink decorations matched my outfit too much not to take pictures! :D

Since the camera was already out, I took some pics at Agnes B., too. Agnes B is a fashion retailer, florist and cafe! I love the gorgeous tiles on the floor of the floristry :)

Sandals For A Warm Winter

J told me this was supposed to be the coldest winter in years. Instead, it's being the warmest winter I can remember in Hong Kong. It was 20°C today and, hey, I won't complain! 

I took my sandals out from the closet for this sunny day and my feet were all happy to be in bright, summery shoes again!

Weekend Getaway: Ocean Spring Resort in Zhuhai, China

We're just back from an unforgettable weekend getaway to celebrate J's birthday. We were planning on going last weekend but by the time we wanted to book the hotel, it was fully booked! A 1000-room hotel fully booked on a regular weekend?! Yes, nothing unusual in China. 

We've been to the Ocean Spring Resort in Zhuhai, famous for its hot springs. Zhuhai is the city in mainland China bordering Macau, and to go from Hong Kong you only need to take a 70 minutes-long ferry ride. The resort had three hotels: an inn, a 4 star hotel, and a 5 star hotel {ours!}. I loved our huge business room with sea view. The resort is famous for its hot springs but it also has a very decent amusement park! 

We spent our Saturday afternoon in the hot springs and both of us LOVED it. They are really worth a visit. My first {and until this trip, only} experience with hot springs was in South Korea in January 2011, where the outside temperature was below zero, so you can imagine the adventure for a first time at the hot springs... This time in Zhuhai has been completely different. The weather here was more like a sunny autumn day than a winter one, with pleasant temperatures above 20 degrees Celcius. I never imagined the hot springs at Ocean Spring Resort would be as amazing as they actually are. I was very positively surprised by many things. First, the hot springs were not crowded as I had feared {this is China after all!}. Second, there were many many different spaces to explore: Turkish style, European, Chinese, etc. And third and my favorite: there was an area with about 20 pools in which each of them had a different herb or substance inside {chrysanthemum, mint, tangerine peel, ginseng, green tea, thousand Chinese herbs, milk, coffee, red wine, etc.}, with a description explaining what that herb or substance was good for and the benefits it had on your body. I guess the total number of pools was around a hundred, most of them outdoors but some indoors as well. I obviously couldn't bring my Canon camera inside, but here is a pic I snapped with my iPhone!

After the hot springs both J and I agreed our bodys felt great and our skin even softer than usual! That's saying a lot, because J and I are naturally soft :D After the hot springs we watched a nice 80 minute acrobatic show called "Memory of the Sea", performed by Russian and Chinese actors.

Today we took some pictures around the resort and then spent a while in the amusement park, where unfortunately most of the amusement rides were closed :(
