Ladies SuperStyle - Shake it, ladies!

Last week I had the chance of being invited to an awesome dance class by Ladies SuperStyle. I had taken some jazz and aerobics dance classes when in high school, but this was totally different, and in a good way! Ladies SuperStyle teaches women the dos and don’ts of moving with perfect posture, style and self-assurance, while having a good time dancing it away! The conductor of the class is founder Katie Targett-Adams, an amazingly talented woman whose biography will leave you speechless.

The class I joined was Level II (Hip Hop Style to the track Priceless by Jessie J), and we learned a choreography for the whole song that was feminine and kinda sexy! J loved it when I performed it for him as soon as I got back home, and that's all that needs to be said! They currently have Level I on Wednesdays and Level II on Mondays, both 8.30-9.30pm at the dance studio, 801-802 Lansing House, 41-47 Queens Road Central.

I didn't bring my camera so I don't really have any good picture of me, but here is a pic Katie send me for you girls to get an idea!

Or here is a pic of myself I uploaded on Instagram on that day!

Ladies SuperStyle's official launch will be in November, but as I mentioned, they're already running some classes! If you like their Facebook page now until the end of September, you may win a free class, so go ahead and give it a try!

Dan Ryan's - American Afternoon Tea

By now all of you already know I'm addicted to English afternoon tea, which is why today's post may come as a surprise. Today's afternoon tea review is for the ultimate American afternoon tea: nachos, waffles and New York cheese-cake, all served with thirst-wrenching lemon iced teas! Not your typical delicate English tea set, huh?

You may not have expected this but Dan Ryan's is actually one of my favorite afternoon teas in town. There's several branches in Hong Kong, but I almost always go to the one in Kowloon Tong. This was even more the case during my 3 years at City University, I looooved going there once a week since I lived at just 5 minutes walking distance! Every time someone wanted to meet up and didn't really have an opinion on where to go, I'd suggest Dan Ryan's at tea time. Which is why it's kind of unbelievable that I haven't blogged about it until now! The light is always dim so the pictures didn't come out the best, but I think my photoshop skills sort of made up for it.

Each set comes with a main dish and a drink. I definitely recommend having iced lemon tea, it comes with free unlimited refill! I remember I used to love having this set before my tennis training in college, I was so high on sugar it acted like dopamine on my body! Crazy! For the main dishes, I like nachos the best, they are way too yummy. The New York cheese-cake and the carrot cake are equally delicious. The waffles are nothing special, and the potato skins are just too little of a portion, so I wouldn't bother ordering those. There's a couple other options besides these I mentioned.

Let me know how you like it! It's specially nice to visit Dan Ryan's around the main American festivities (Halloween and Christmas), the place is decorated to the max!

Wedding Wednesday: Less than a month left!

This is getting pretty serious now, our wedding is in 3 weeks and a half!!! Surprisingly, I'm not nervous at all. There's almost nothing left to prepare, everything is agreed on, and all our wedding vendors know what to do on our big day. This last week I've mainly been busy preparing our trips around Europe on the week before and the week after the wedding. We'll be traveling to Madrid, Paris and London. J is SO excited to get to watch both Real Madrid {Champions League match on October 2 in Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, Madrid) and Barça (La Liga match on October 5 in Camp Nou Stadium, Barcelona) on the same trip! Yeah, the latter is on the night before our wedding... Talk about a tight schedule!

I'm obviously more excited about the Paris and London trips, I haven't been to either of the two cities for quite a while! I need to do some research beforehand for yummy afternoon tea sets in London, and awesome French pastries in Paris. It's gonna be awesome! Don't think this is our honeymoon though, I already talked about our Maldives plans for that :) In fact, we'll be traveling with J's parents, auntie and sister, so it's 6 of us! I booked apartments instead of hotels in every city because it really makes a difference price-wise when so many people travel together. I liked organizing this trip because it gave me a glimpse of how it will be to travel with our kids once I've given birth to the four of them as we want :D Of course the accommodation is the only resemblance between this trip with J's family consisting of 6 adults, and the trips we'll have with our children, consisting of 2 adults and 4 little ones. Do I really know what I'm getting myself into? >.<

Not only have I been planning our trips around Europe, I've also been sorting out our 10-day trip to Thailand in January, with my parents, my uncles, my brother and J, total 7 people. Now everything is booked, and I'm SO looking forward to this trip!!! We're going to Phuket and Bangkok and let me just tell you that the resorts we're gonna be staying at are to die for! Way better than the one J and I stayed at in Hua Hin for our pre-wedding trip, which I already loved! I may indeed die as a matter of fact, because this trip is gonna cost us even more than our honeymoon to the Maldives! OMG @@ Anyway, cheers to living life to the fullest!

VFNO x Lane Crawford in Hong Kong

VFNO, a.k.a Vogue Fashion's Night Out happened in Hong Kong last night! I'm a declared fan of VFNO ever since 2011, when I joined the one in Madrid with my BFF Soraya and had A BLAST! VFNO is all about celebrating fashion in style, shops (luxury ones mainly) open at night time and serve drinks and snacks to all the fashionistas who willingly join the best fashion party of the year. There are usually several special discounts available only on this day!

Madrid VFNO, 2011

The VFNO in Hong Kong is different to those in other parts of the world in the fact that it happens exclusively at Lane Crawford, the multi-brand luxury retailer. All Lane Crawford branches took part in the event last night, even though the main party was going on at the IFC branch, which is where I was, of course!

This edition of VFNO didn't disappoint: free-flow of Veuve Clicquot champagne, beer, orange juice or a fancy coffee-flavored liquor; mouth-watering macarons from Sift; Popsicles, and many, many more booths made of this a great night. It was crowded, too, so it was definitely a success!

My favorite booth were the macarons from Sift... simply delicious, and there were SO many, the staff kept on refilling! I ate 5 or 6, I forgot haha

This booth had MAJOR success! Girls were queuing for a long time for this! The Bumbys gave you an honest and anonymous appraisal on your look by typing it on their typing machines. Entrepreneurs out there, you see the big opportunity here, girls are dying to know what others REALLY think of how they look :)

Beautiful actress and model Lynn Hung and other celebrities were there too!
