Wedding Wednesday: Our wedding photography session in the woods

There's many things that made me fall in love with La Garriga de Castelladral, our wedding venue, as soon as I saw it for the first time. One of my favorites are its amazing landscapes. Our wedding photography session took place in their amazing forest, filled with long, majestic pine trees.

It wasn't particularly easy to walk in the woods with my long lace dress, but I managed pretty well! I got it all full of pine needles but my lovely flower girls helped me remove all of them during the banquet :D

We took some pictures with the bridesmaids and the groomsmen first, and then only J and I stayed to take some bride&groom pictures. That forest has a very special energy, it felt terribly romantic while we were taking our pics, I'm so glad we did it there!

A lovely picture with Soraya

The boys! Always posing :p

Every single picture is so delicate and special, as usual I could just select a few, but I truly love them all!

I hope you enjoyed our wedding pictures, next week I'll be showing you the outdoor appetizer we served before the banquet!

If you missed out on my previous posts, you can check out the rest of the pictures from our wedding day here.

Wedding Wednesday: My Bridesmaids Cards

My six bridesmaids have already received the package with their dresses and the bridesmaids cards I sent with them, so it's time for me to share them with you! I won't be showing their dress just yet, I want to keep it a surprise for the wedding. What I can tell you, though, is it's baby pink {what else?} :D

What I want to show you today are the cards I designed myself for them with some inspiration I found on Pinterest. The cards read:

I found my man,
but I still need my girls.
Marta (Eva, Soraya, Lea, Maria, Connie), you are sweet and charming...
Will you be my bridesmaid?
Please say yes!

I sent them together with the little bridesmaids they handmade for my bachelorette party, do you still remember? Otherwise here is a picture :)

Talking about cards, today we took our wedding invitations to the printing company, and they should be ready in about three weeks! I designed them all by myself in Adobe Illustrator... It was a bit tough but I'm really pleased with the result, they are really sweet! I'll be sharing them with you later on for sure.

Wedding Wednesday: Bachelorette! (II/II)

Woohoo! Here is the second part of the amazing bachelorette party my friends organized for me last month! Feel free to take a look at the first part if you still haven't! So after we finished lunch, off we went to our next stop... my surprise party at a cupcakes shop!!! It was SO awesome when I got in there and I saw the whole thing they had prepared for me. I felt so touched I couldn't help but crying... Thank you girls for all the effort you put on my bridal shower, it was an unforgettable day for me, and hopefully for all of you, too!

The venue was Victoria's cakes, and it was all decorated for me in my favorite colors, pink and white, with my first name Xenia on a banner {Olivia is my middle name as I mentioned previously}. There were cupcakes, cake pops, sandwiches...

and a big gorgeous princess-like cake!

We ate, drank tea, chit-chatted, took pics, and I received some presents! Mainly bridal underwear! :D Thank you so much once again, I feel so blessed to have friends like you.

Here are some pics with my bridesmaids-to-be! There's still one missing, my friend Connie from Hong Kong who will join my wedding too! Woohoo!

I'm sososo happy and thankful. Love you all!

PS. J and I have been taking our gorgeous pre-wedding pics this last weekend. Remember to follow me on instagram or facebook for I've been posting plenty of nice sneak peeks!

Wedding Wednesday: The girls

I have been giving a lot of thought to whether I should have bridesmaids in my wedding in Barcelona. Bridesmaids are not popular when it comes to weddings in Spain, so I almost went with the flow and forgot about the idea.

I've always known I'll be having bridesmaids in my wedding in Hong Kong because it is a big tradition here. And I am seriously so excited about it, about having my girlfriends sharing my big day with me not as mere guests but as sisters. That's when I thought I couldn't miss the chance to experience this with my best friends since childhood, my best friends back in Spain.

Even though we live so far away, they are helping me so much with the wedding planning, and I seriously couldn't do it without them. Soraya is the one who convinced me on having bridesmaids, she practically begged me, and Marta, a wedding-planner herself, gives me precious advise without me even having to ask. Marta also took the responsibility of organizing my bridal shower, which will be in early April, when I go back to Barcelona for some days.

These girls have been giving me their support since day 1, since I said I was engaged, and have been sharing my excitement all along. I'm so thankful for having friends like them. I'll have four bridesmaids in total, Maria and Eva being the other two. They were all thrilled when I asked them to be, even though I haven't asked formally yet, I'm still preparing the "Will you be my bridesmaid?" cards with my ever improving Illustrator skills. I just wanted to tell them beforehand because I was afraid some of them would buy a dress for my wedding while I was busy preparing the bridesmaids cards... I couldn't let that happen because my idea is for all of them to wear the same dress, that I will tailor made for them in China :)

I think bridesmaids make a wedding PRETTIER and MERRIER, and I can't wait to see the result!  What are your thoughts on bridesmaids?
